Tennis Wimbledon


Wimbledon is a famous and the most prestigious event in the sport of tennis. It's a two-week long championship held every June and July in London, United Kingdom. The Championships start six weeks before the first Monday in August and last approximately a fortnight, until all events are complete.

The third event in the Grand Slam Calendar after the Australian Open and the French Open and followed by the U.S. Open , 2009 Wimbledon championships will take place from 22nd June - 5th July. 

The grounds will open at 10.30 a.m. each day. On Courts 2-19, play is provisionally scheduled to start at noon for at least the first eight days and then at 11.00a.m. for the Junior matches on the middle Saturday and during the second week. On Centre and No.1 Courts, play will start at 1.00 p.m., except on the final two days when play on these courts will start at 2.00 p.m. Please check the daily order of play.

Provisional Schedule of Matches for 2009:

During the first week, the early rounds of the Men’s and Ladies’ Singles, Men’s, Ladies’ and Mixed Doubles will be played on all courts, with top seeds’ matches played on the show courts. On the middle Saturday the Veterans’ and Juniors’ events commence and will be played on the outside courts as well as on some of the show courts.

Tickets, including those for the final Sunday, are only valid for the date and court shown. They are non-transferable and not valid for any other day or court, for any reason whatsoever. Wheelchair access is not permitted with a reserved ticket., please contact your account manager for further details.

There is always a great demand for the Wimbledon tickets. The tickets for the event are available on the official website. The organization operates a ballot for advances sale of tickets for Center, No.1 and No.2 court tickets. Just entering the ballot does not ensure a ticket. It is just like an application form.
Tickets will also be available at the venue on the day of the matches.
