Rugby World Cup

The Rugby World Cup is the leading international rugby union competition in the world. The event is organized by the sport's governing body, the International Rugby Board (IRB), and is contested by the men's national rugby union teams.
The trophy is called Webb Ellis Cup, named after the pupil of Rugby School pupil who has invented the game. The tournament is one of the largest international sporting competitions in the world. The current title holder of the championships is England, who won the 2003 tournament held in Australia.
The next Rugby World Cup is hosted in France during September and October of 2007.
As many as eighty-six countries are competing for the qualifiers that have begun in Europe in September 2004 and end early 2007. Eight quarter finalists of the 2003 world cup are automatically qualified for the world cup 2007. The 20 qualifiers will be divided into four pools: Pool A, Pool B, Pool C, Pool D.

Tickets for the Rugby World Cup 2007 are available over three different phases.
The firs phase that has started on Nov. 5, 2005 allows only the registered members of the Rugby unions to buy tickets.
The second phase has started in April 2006 which is open for general public.
The individual tickets for everyone will go on sale starting from Autumn 2006.
Tickets are available in two categories:
Individual: allows entry to a single match.
Pack: allows entry to a given number of matches for a specified team or city.
