11th IAAF World Championships in Athletics
The 11th World Athletics Championships will be held in Osaka, Japan from August 25, 2007 - September 2, 2007. The Host Organizer of the event is the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations).
The event will include 24 events for Men, 23 events for Women with approximately 3,200 athletes participating from 212 countries.
The championships will be held at Nagai Stadium that has a capacity of 50,000 seats in Stadium 1 and 15,000 seats in Stadium 2.

The IAAF World Championships in Athletics started in 1983 in Helsinki and were initially organized every four years. After the IAAF World Championships in Athletics Tokyo 1991, the events were held once every two years. The IAAF World Championship is the ultimate championships in Athletics that draw together the world's best athletes to compete for the title of World Champion.
The first IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Japan, Tokyo 1991, was the panorama of innumerable cherished moments. With the 11th IAAF World Championships in Athletics Osaka 2007, the event will be revisiting Japan after 16 years.
