Sania happy with Silver

China’s Zheng Jie defeated Sania Mirza by 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 at Doha in Women’s Singles finals. 

The 23-year-old Zheng who bagged the first tennis Gold for China has won Wimbledon and Australian Open doubles titles with compatriot Yan Zi. She has also to her credit, singles titles at Stockholm and Estoril. 

The strong Indian crowd screamed and cheered Sania, which is not familiar in tennis games, affected Zheng but didn’t dishearten her from winning Gold.
Zheng won the first set and Sania fought back in the second test but failed in the decisive third.

After fighting off Zheng’s Chinese teammate Li Na to enter finals had said that she had ample chances but was not up to snuff to take advantage of it.
