Mumbai wins Ranji Trophy with Team India's star cast

It was a special Ranji Trophy final at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday with international players playing for their respective home teams. For Mumbai, it was a record 37th National Championship Title.
Zaheer Khan took nine wickets as Mumbai downed Bengal by 132 runs on the penultimate day of the Ranji Trophy super league final. Zaheer, making his Mumbai debut, added four more wickets to his five in the first innings to help bowl out Bengal for 339 in their second innings while chasing a huge 472 for victory. Credit also goes to Mumbai batsmen, especially Wasim Jaffer, who scored a century and a half-century and Sachin Tendulkar, who scored a century and 43. Rohit Sharma chipped in with a promising 57 in the second innings.
Although Bengal, who managed 143 in the first innings, fared better the second time around with three half-centuries from Manoj Tiwary (94), Sourav Ganguly (90) and captain Deep Dasgupta (57). Bengal pacer Ranadeb Bose took nine wickets in the match. But all those efforts were futile as they lost the match, the second successive time in a Ranji trophy final. Last year they had lost to Uttar Pradesh.
Sharad Pawar, President, President of the Indian cricket board and Union Agricultural Minister gave the prizes away amidst cheers and celebration
