India beat Australia in Women's International Cricket Tournament

India scored a three-wicket win in their second successive match defeating Australia in the quadrangular
women's international in Chennai. Electing to bat, Australia made 213 for 8 in 50 overs and India romped home making 215 for 7 in 49
overs, thanks to an unbeaten 104 by opener Jaya Sharma. Both Jaya and Hemalata Kala (18-3x4) resurrected the
innings, putting on 56 runs for the fourth wicket off 63 balls. Rumeli Dhar (22
- 2x4) and Amita Sharma (26), who was run out, batted well. Jaya Sharma was declared woman of the match.
In another match, New Zealand won by 19 runs against England. Both India and New Zealand have eight points each and are unbeaten. Sarah Tsukigama made an elegant 78
(7x4, 4x6) and opener Maria Fahey made 50 (8x4) to help the Kiwis post 291 for 6. England were dismissed for 272 in 48.2 overs.
